Yay, the demolisher guy came yesterday, and took out everything from the bathrooms... he also partly fell through the ensuite floor it was so rotten (thats what happens when you don't waterproof a bathroom, sheesh, what were the former owners thinking!).
Luckily the supporting beams were ok...
The floors and parts of the walls need to be replaced in both bathrooms before work can continue, so its all stopped today.
Will post photos later . . .

We did it
In 2 days we managed to purchase:
-2 Vanity units (despite the fact that apparently you are meant to order these in advance !! who knew there aren't just piles of these things ... the nice ones anyway ... in stock !! But lucky for us the one we wanted just happened to be in stock in Ballarat - so thanks Dad for picking it up :)
-5 sets of taps
-1 bath
-4 towel rails
-2 handtowel thingys
-2 toilet paper holders
-2 soap dishes
-1 shelf
-floor + wall tiles for the 2 bathrooms (they are soooooo pretty)
-shower base
paint
3 toilets (well, we already had bought these at bargain basement price, but we added them to be delivered).
so cool!
The bathroom demolition starts tomorrow, woo hoo !!

Painting
We decided (well, I decided!) to use an eco-friendly paint called "Oikos", which has zero VOCs (and apparently covers any nasties that might have been on the wall previously). It came from the "Designer paint company" in Surrey Hills - highly recommended for their friendly service, and it seemed pretty cheap to me (although this is my first paint job so have nothing to compare with!).
Richard painted the house with some help from my dad, and it looks fab - the previous paint job was terrible - they hadn;t even painted some parts of the plasterboard, and in the lounge they had repainted at some stage, but not bothered to move the furniture so there were outlines of couches and tables on the walls !!
Lets see if I can post some before and after shots below...
After with "Silver princess" on the walls, plain white on the ceiling. The Skirting will eventually be that dark silver you can see on the window frame...
